Fiber break model for tension-tension fatigue of unidirectional composites

چکیده
Damage progression in unidirectional (UD) composites tension-tension fatigue is vital to understanding more complex laminates and loading conditions. We therefore developed the UD model that considers fiber breaks, fiber-matrix debond growth, as well interactions of these damage modes. The contribution each mode assessed those dominate are identified. accounts for Weibull statistics strength stress redistribution around breaks. predictions indicate a significantly higher density breaks clusters compared quasi-static at same level. predicts S–N curves pure uniaxial does not consider concentrations caused near grips; tend overpredict life experimental available literature. has potential be different

Tension–tension fatigue of hybrid composite rods
The tension–tension fatigue behavior was investigated for a hybrid composite rod comprised of a unidirectional carbon fiber core and a glass fiber shell. Fatigue tests were performed at three R-ratios and four maximum applied stress levels (MAS) while recording the secant modulus at each cycle, and acoustic emission (AE) sensors were employed to monitor the activation of fatigue mechanisms. Fat...
متن کاملTension–tension fatigue behavior of layer-to-layer 3-D angle- interlock woven composites
The tension–tension fatigue behavior of (the layer-to-layer) three-dimensional angle-interlock woven composite (3DAWC) was investigated using the acoustic emission (AE) technique, examination of damaged regions via light microscopy and micro-CT, and finite element analysis (FEA). AE events occurred during the entire fatigue process, and damage modes were determined based on cumulative fatigue d...

The tension-tension fatigue behavior of unidirectional C/SiC ceramic-matrix composite at room temperature and 800 °C under air has been investigated. The fatigue hysteresis modulus and fatigue hysteresis loss energy corresponding to different number of applied cycles have been analyzed. The fatigue hysteresis loops models for different interface slip cases have been derived based on the fatigue...

The effect of tension-tension fatigue (T-T) on carbon/epoxy composites (CFC) has been investigated in this paper. Load controlled fatigue tests were conducted in the tension-tension (T-T) cyclic mode with the R-ratio values of 0.1 and 0.3 and subsequently the specimens with the fatigue life over 10 cycles have been studied by means of tensile testing, ultrasonic inspection and quantitative data...

Three-dimensional transient deformations of a laminate comprised of several unidirectional fiber reinforced layers perfectly bonded to each other and subjected to a blast load are analyzed by the finite element method with an in-house developed, verified and fully validated code with rate-dependent damage evolution equations for anisotropic bodies. The continuum damage mechanics approach employ...
